## Hi, I'm Ryan

I create things. Right now I create software. I like the ambiguity at the start, finding what the real problem is, then building the solution to that.

I built [Sails.app](https://sails.app/) so an AI assistant has a drive it can build on. It can keep files, send email, put a website up, and run jobs, and the team works in the same workspace.

I'm at [Vannevar](https://www.vannevarlabs.com/) now, where I take products from the first messy question through shipping, and then through the versions after that. Before that I was CTO at [LeaderFactor](https://www.leaderfactor.com/), where we built leadership training used by Fortune 500 companies.

Earlier I led frontend engineering at [Stukent](https://www.stukent.com/), and frontend engineering and mobile engineering at [Skipio](https://skipio.com/). Same job every time: figure out what to build, then go build it, usually with a small team.

## Synvox

Synvox is the personal website of Ryan Allred, a software engineer in Lehi, Utah who creates products — finding the real problem first, then building the solution. In his spare time he speaks at local meetups.

He is a staff software engineer at Vannevar, where he takes products from the first messy question through shipping and the versions after that. He built Sails.app so an AI assistant has a drive it can build on: files, email, websites, and jobs in a shared workspace.

Before Vannevar he was CTO at LeaderFactor, building leadership training used by Fortune 500 companies — frontend, backend, design, and more at a small company. Earlier he led frontend engineering and mobile engineering at Skipio, a messaging platform for consultants and sales teams, and frontend engineering at Stukent on Mimic Social, a social media marketing simulation for students.

As a college sophomore he built I-Know, a browser extension that aggregated assignments into one checklist; it went viral with students worldwide, including at Yale, Harvard, and BYU. His first big project was Canvas Creator, an animation and game creator with a drag-and-drop interface.
